LAP DORADO Laser Systems for CT-Simulation
LAP DORADO Laser Systems project moveable laser lines that intersect and form crosses of laser light upon the patients' skin. Images from a CT-Scanner are used to calculate how far each laser line should shift to change all intersection points from a preset position (Laser zero) to Isocentre position (treatment centre). These advanced computer controlled moving laser systems may also be used to mark skin surface points such as field edges, MLC shapes, Brachytherapy needle entry/exit points and for in vivo dose measurement.
No other laser system for CT-Simulation offers the same standards of Quality Assurance. All LAP DORADO Systems feature a unique two-way communication between the laser rails and IsoMark PC. Every Laser Rail has a built-in microprocessor and linear optical encoder to check and verify the actual laser position before the laser can turn on. All final positions are stored as a record of quality. All data transfers are sent with a Checksum to guard against data corruption.

- Lateral Post Lasers mounted on floor
- Overhead laser on ceiling bracket
Bridge System
- For rooms with unsuitable ceiling and 'soft walls'
- All lasers built into floor-mounted bridge structure
Beam System
- For rooms with unsuitable ceiling and solid walls
- Lateral Post or Wall Lasers mounted on walls or floor
- Overhead laser configured as a beam supported by brackets fixed to wall
Control Software |
 |
- IsoMark Software – Full laser control and interface to all major RT planning systems. Checks, verifies and records all laser positions. The lasers cannot switch on in an incorrect position – more info

Control Hardware |
 |
- The Navigator – The DORADO Navigator (PDA) is a wireless handheld Bluetooth device that provides full control over the DORADO Laser System. The Navigator features a touch screen display and control buttons. Either manual or IsoMark Mode can be selected. All patient data is automatically transferred from the IsoMark PC to the hand-held device. This allows the user to perform patient specific marking functions from inside the CT room. – more info
